Fiat 500 in Chippenham Wiltshire
Small cars don’t come more stylish than the Fiat 500. A retro marvel, its legacy dates way back to 1957, with the modern interpretation fully connected and packed with smart technologies to make life easier. Mild hybrid technology is now standard, bringing lower running costs, with the 1.0 petrol engine packing lots of grunt for urban driving. From Dolcevita, all versions have cruise control and rear parking sensors, and all this is wrapped up in a beautiful, retro body available in seven colours.
Trims include Pop, Dolcevita, Dolcevita Plus and (RED). Dolcevita has a 7” HD touchscreen, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, 15” alloys, a fixed sunroof, automatic headlights and wipers, air con and the Chrome Kit. Dolcevita Plus adds navigation, a 7” TFT driver’s display, auto climate control and 16” alloys. (RED) models have unique red detailing and exclusive seats finished in SEAQUAL Marine Plastic recycled upholstery. You can also get the 500 as a Cabriolet with a soft-top roof.
Design
Iconic and desirable, the Fiat 500 is a car you can take anywhere. Dolcevita models ride on 15” alloys and get a fixed sunroof to flood the cabin with light. Dolcevita Plus models boast a 7” driver’s display and larger 16” alloy wheels.
Drive
The 500’s short turning circle and punchy 1.0 mild hybrid engine (70hp, up to 61.4mpg combined) ensure easy motoring. Rear parking sensors and cruise control are standard from Dolcevita, with all versions getting a speed limiter.
Practicality
The Fiat 500 has space for four adults and lots of shopping. The 185-litre boot is a good size and you can split-fold the rear seats 50-50. Up front, the seats slide forwards, and you get a height-adjustable steering wheel for a great vantage point.
Living with it
With low running costs and a fun drive, the Fiat 500 is a pleasure to own. Dolcevita Plus models make life that little bit easier with automatic climate control and navigation, but all versions have handy features like remote central locking.
